A Hairy Fairy Walk.

We were once again adorned with bright sunshine on the second day of the year. I had a very lazy relaxing morning doing very little but catching up on some reading. After lunch I got a phone call from Tootlepedal asking if I was interested in going for a walk. I picked him up at the allotted time and after a short discussion we decided to have a stroll round the Fairy Loup. Before we set off we stopped on the Hollows Bridge to have a look at the Archimedes Screw at the Hollows Mill.....

.......and some other points of interest around the bridge.

Whoever produced this and situated where it is, I hope they continue to do so with these pleasurable little oddities.

Moving on we stopped to take or attempt to take a shot from the Byreburn Bridge into the sun.

As we proceeded towards the Fairy Loup we noticed  a few bits of frost hair in the undergrowth, Tootlepedal is a keen photographer of frost hair so he was quite delighted but was even more delighted as we continued, as it became abundant. much to our delight. Click here to see Tootlepedals version of our walk.

We passed by the Fairy Loup.....

.....when the moss draped over the branches  on a tree by the side of the track caught our eye......

......as did the frost on these leaves on the road verge.

We proceeded on our route stopping off to take some random shots as we made our way back to the car.

After we arrived back at the car Tootlepedal kindly invited me back to Wauchope Cottage for a cup of tea and homemade toasted crumpets. Mrs Toolepedal joined us and told me about how they spent a very pleasurable new year with their lovely granddaughter Matilda and her family.

I'm making a slight extension to this post and posting what is my favourite shots of 2016 month by month. Personally I dont think I produced anything outstanding photographic wise apart from the USA, Mexico trip, so this year I thoroughly intend to make a more conscience effort both on my photography and blogging.....this is not a resolution by the way because at some point I'll probably slip up. Anyway I wish all off you that take the time to read my post or at least look at my photos I wish all health and happiness for the coming year and beyond.
