Autumnal Colours

On Friday Tootlepedal and myself took advantage of the fine weather and headed for the Hollows near Canonbie with the intentions of photographing the wonderful array of autumnal colours that is being displayed lately.

The following are some of the shots I took.

The colours and pattern remind me of my days working in the local tweed mills that have all but disappeared.

On my return home I was saddened to find a dead Siskin lying on the back door step. I had recently put the bird feeder back in the garden with the hope that Goldfinches and Siskins would return, hopefully this will be the only casualty.

After doing some household chores on Sunday morning I spent the rest of the morning debating where to go with the camera. After a lot of debating with myself I decided to go to Talkin Tarn to capture some of the Autumn tints we are being blessed with at the moment.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

  1. Talkin Tarn was a good choice.

I enjoyed our excursion. Let's hope the weather lets us have another one soon.

  3. Thanks Jim. Clear days like this have been few and far between lately. I thought it was going to be a rather dull Autumn for a while.
