Bird Feeder on Camera

After lunch I set up the bird feeder camera that Tootlepedal gave me to try in my garden. I got the feeder positioned on the fence and not too far away from the main feeders. I put some seed on the tray thinking it might take a day or two for the birds to accept it but within twenty minutes a nuthatch was the first to visit and for a while was most frequent visitor. It wasn't long before others were getting in on the act.
Camera in action.
Now the feeder camera was up and running I set up my camera in the back bedroom which overlooks the garden. I discovered that it was possible to view the feeder on TV and at the same time take pictures via the radio remote, which was a pleasant surprise as I didn't think it would fire off through the walls of the house.
Quite excited by the whole thing I invited Tootlepedal to come and have a look. He was quite impressed and we thought it would be a good idea to experiment by repositioning the camera to see if we could get some pictures from a different angle. I left the feeder camera running until it was quite dark and it was still possible to view in very low light. Because of the low light conditions I was having to shoot at a high ISO hence the rather grainy pictures.
I'm glad that the camera worked so well. It was a treat to come up and be able watch something interesting on the telly for once.
