More Feeder Cam

Shot of the Day

After having breakfast I set up my camera alongside the feeder cam in the hope that I could get some interesting shots.

I spent most of the day experimenting, I used the on camera flash at the default settings, these turned out OK.

I then tried the flash compensator at 2 stops under but just ended up with ghostly images, I should have checked before I spent the next hour or so pointlessly clicking away. What I was aiming for was freezing birds in flight which is much more difficult than i thought.

A Blackbird deep in thought

waiting patiently

Watching all the coming and going over the course of the day I noticed the Coal Tits were by far the most frequent visitors. The Nuthatch made regular appearances, there were also visits from Siskins, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Robin, Goldfinch, Chaffinch. Blackbird and even a Wren at one point.
