Print of the Year
Just in case anyone missed my winning print from previous posts.
Over the season I have learned so much, especially how hard it is to get something that is slightly different but staying in the traditions of photography. On a recent visit to Dumfries to see Dumfries Camera Clubs annual exhibition so many were very heavily manipulated, no doubt with a high degree of skill but surely there must come a time when the competition organisers must somehow differentiate between a traditional image and a manipulated image.
The above print was taken on a mobile phone and lightly processed via Photoshop to give it a grainy effect, yet the judge questioned if it had been painstakingly produced from a variety of images. It was a shot taken at an opportune moment with the only camera I had at hand and it worked.
